Self-Sufficiency Services

NESF works closely with city & county welfare agency’s to provide intensive case management services for those involved with the Supportive Assistance to Individuals & Families (SAIF) program.  This program is available, by referral only, to those individuals who have or are about to reach their lifetime limit (60 months) of public assistance benefits. Please speak to your welfare case worker if you think you qualify for this program.

The goal of this service is to assist clients in reaching a state of financial and residential self-sufficiency whether that’s through obtaining job training and employment or through securing another form of permanent income.

Clients are assisted in accomplishing these goals with the implementation of the “Adkins Lifeskills Training”.  Clients are provided with training and information about basic life and work skills by trained NESF case managers.

NESF also works with the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) to provide permanent housing placement and continued supportive services to nine individuals for a period of up to five years.
